JeffM Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 I think the ProJo site is members only, Ken. Maybe you could summarize the facts? Quote
Ken_Potts Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 Ken, Since I first heard about this situation I've been hoping they would be found at a dock in Norfolk making minor repairs and completely unaware that the Epirb had gone off. I still hope it turns out to be something along those lines. I'll keep them and their loved ones in my thoughts. Quote
JeffM Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 The Providence Journal's print article mentions 30' seas on Monday hampering search efforts. I wonder what that's like on a boat that size. My prayers also are with the crew and families. Quote

ken connors Posted May 14, 2007 Author Posted May 14, 2007 After searching thousands of miles of sea, without finding any signs of a missing sailboat and its four sailors with Rhode Island ties, the U.S. Coast Guard decided last night to suspend its active search. The captain and crew of the 54-foot sailboat Flying Colours were believed to be somewhere off the coast of North Carolina, where the boat disappeared Monday in rough seas. The last contact with the boat was an electronic distress signal that the Coast Guard picked up at 3:30 a.m. on Monday and which stopped a few hours later. Yesterday, the hopes of the sailors Quote
JeffM Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Thanks, Ken. I've been checking news outlets several times a day hoping for good news. I've disovered others around here who also know crew members--small state. It's hard. Quote
ken connors Posted May 15, 2007 Author Posted May 15, 2007 Dear God, be good to me; The sea is so wide, and my boat is so small Makes you think about that old prayer, Jeff Quote
