First of all I would like to thank everyone for their support, financial and moral! I really appreciated all the interest and encouragement I got from everyone - it was a big boost on those days when I was building in the cold and came home so tired I could hardly see straight. So to everyone on this forum and all our builders and friends who have called and emailed or written THANK YOU.

I must also give a very special thanks to a group of people who were hands on in their help. My students and friends here who came by to lend a hand, doing any work from pulling staples to sweeping the floor. I could not have completed this project in under three months without them.

Tom Miller who left his busy business to help out; John Burritt who not only helped but took over my class so I could get away for the race; Marty who was there many a day, working alongside us; April Edwards, my now expert "epoxy lady!" This beautiful young high school student happily laid on gallons of epoxy and kept me in line to boot; Ed Boden, my dear friend of many a moon (not saying exactly HOW many moons we go back) - who not only helped with the building, but was so generous with his engineering expertise (yes, it really is "rocket science"). Gordy Hill - what a friend. His hospitatlity and his service to me and to the whole race fleet was incredible. Tom Lathrop - gee what can I say! Tom has been by my side the whole way. His great craftsmanship, his experience and ideas were irreplaceable. This was another yet project we completed together - after aye, these many years. and here is to many more. Also Tom and his lovely wife Liz were my ground crew - kindly trailing my rig across southern Florida to meet me at Key Largo. and last, but certainly not least, my partner "Tinker" - Randy Marshall. I really had the best alongside me out there. And last but not least, Carla put up with a lot as she carried the whole show while I was away most of the time. She would bring me a cooked meal most nights to save me from stopping work.

Hi Graham,

I enjoyed the chance to finally meet you before the race and follwed the race with great excitement. I admire the guts it takes to take on such a challenge and do it openly in front of your customers and friends.

Hearty congratulations and best wishes.

I imagine now that the great push is over, there is pressure to take care of business. You deserve a break so take it easy. We'll still be here.

Had we executed this event perfectly, I believe we would have come close to the magical 2 day mark. I'm sure that Graham will do his best to insure that we do better next year, and I know that I will do better with the navigation end. That being said, to some degree the unknowables have an awful lot of influence. We had very favorable conditions this year, and more than our fair share of good fortune. Given the same again next year, we'll hope to improve.
