I was wondering if there was any builders of the vacationer over here in australia queensland to be more percise i have gotten my plan set and would like to have some one local who may be able to bounce ideas off

I don't know about Vacationer particularly, but there are some Pocket Cruiser and Weekender owners around SE Queensland. I believe there were three at the recent Bribie Island Classic regatta. (I'll see if I can find some pictures to post separately)

If you want local, more general wooden boat building advice you could join the Wooden Boat Asscociation of Queensland which has regular meetings (2nd Tuesday each month at the Maritime Museum), regular messabouts (last weeekend was at Lake Cootharaba) and regular workshop days.

There is also a local (Australian) wooden boat building forum with members active in Queensland. (Google "Woodworking Forum")

Of course, the experts are clearly here, but they ain't local.

Hi Dave, i've just ordered plans for the weekender - not exactly the same but similar to your vacationer - this is my 3rd wooden boat (if you count the hartley kayak) - be glad to compare notes.

Very opinionated too. those fellows are. The forum has some neat wooden stuff, too, if only I could understand that foreign lanquage. 8)
