Saw that on the catboat forum Joe. Nice picture. very traditional look, what with the pipe, foulie bottoms, cat rig, etc.

Looks like it was a good day, unlike our last sail on Tuesday of last week- we got nailed by a frontal passage- anchored in 6 foot of water, 3 foot draft. Banged bottom twice, had one wave break over the fore deck and spray water under the hatch on the cabin top.

I'd love a nice leisurely sail in something less than 15 knots

How long did the wave action last with that storm?

The wave action lasted about 45 minutes to an hour before it settled down to a dull roar. Winds were a solid 35, gusting close to 45. We sat about 2 hours then pulled the hooks and motored back to the marina, in a dead calm but steady cold rain. Got the boat tied up, got into the truck headed home and the sun came out :roll:

Travis had taken his Princess 22 into the launch ramp just inshore of where we were anchored and tied to the dock. The waves were breaking over the dock for a good while.

We got the same crap last time we managed to get the boat out- 4th of July would you believe? We were in deeper water then so no problems. Travis was along that time also and got this picture of us just before the main squalls hit.
