G'day all,

How many layers of tape on the bulkheads?

Graham has specified two layer inside and one outside for the chine seams. And three inside with one outside for the centerboard trunk. But I find no mention of the bulkheads. anyone?

I used one layer of 3" wide 10oz tape on my CS17 bulkheads.

I used 3 inch and 4 inch, depending on where it was. Over a small fillet of course.

Graham has specified 12 oz at 4 inches wide for the chine and centerboard trunk. I'm fine with that, just wondering if i'm over building if I put two layers fore and aft at the bulkheads.

Yes I intended for the bulkheads to be tabbed in the same as the chine joint. The 12 oz. is assuming it is biaxial with the fibers at 45 deg. across the joint. If the tape is 0 / 90 deg. then use two layers of 8/10 oz. on all 3/8" ply inside of the boat. On 1/4" ply use 1 layer.

Yes, I have 1208 biaxial at 45 degrees. Planning to cut three and four inch strips, as soon as I get my cutting wheel. Tomorrow.
