I just about got all the paint on I'm gonna get this season. Just got the no-skid left, and the cabin interior, which will be white.

If you watch the Weekender video as well as read the plans it appears the bulk of the function of the no-skid is to speed construction by hiding imperfections, and to make the boat look more detailed and professional. It doesn't look as your boat needs either!

I don't know ... I went up to the forepeak all the time in my Weekender. You do have to stay close to the centerline, but I don't know how you bring down the jib unless you go up there.

Not having a showpiece like that one ... look in the dictionary under "workboat finish" and you find my Weekender ... I don't know how you solve this one. That deck is magnificent and it would be a shame to put non-skid on it. May as well paint it as do that.

You might look into rigging a downhaul for the jib so you don't have to venture up there under weigh.

To calm the nerves, I plan on applying no-skid, in the form of glass bead, only to the entry points of the cockpit. I'm making a mock-up of the glass bead no-skid, and I'll post a photo as soon as it's done. I hadn't thought of the forepeak and the jib....may have to carry some mats for emergencies if the glass bead thing doesn't look REAL good

The glass bead idea hit the skids.... It isn't clear, but has a slight blue-green tint to it. Ugly. So I picked up a Martha Stewart ( )sponge roller for the entry rail areas and the seats. If that doesn't work, I'll have to do without.
