It's coming Guys!!!! The first weekend in May Cedar Key will be overrun with small boats. The weather's usually somewhere between too cold or too hot and the sailing's usually great. Try the oyster omelet at the Red Lyon!

Oyster Omlet? Now there is something that is different. While I was in Cortez, there was a woman there from the tourism board in Cedar Key promoting the gathering and area, or something like that, that brought a motor home and boat and sat up in the group, and proceeded to cook up a pot of real clam chowder, chowder that had so many clams in it, and man were they salty, just like me too. :wink: It was the best I have ever had, barring none.

Where is Cedar Key?

West coast of Florida above Tampa/St Pete. In fact, just above Tarpon Springs. Kind of a neat place, or it was 25 years ago. Don't know how commercialized it's become since.

Not a very far drive from Gainesville. I can vouch for the oyster omelet. It's ultra yummy. I have never seen one on a menu before or since my visit to Cedar Key.
