Just got back from the DMV. Other than standing in line it wasn't that bad 8)

I had no, read "0," receipts. No problem. Just declared the value ($1500.00) and that was that. At first she did ask if I had it inspected by the state patrol :? I explained that it was a boat and I didn't have to have it inspected. After checking (gosh, I was right :roll: ) and figuring out the make, which I thought was the model, all was done. Cool, I'm legal. HIN number was assigned at the same time.

How did I come up with the $1500.00 number you ask? Seemed like a good idea at the time. :wink:

If I can get a dry day to lay out the tarp so that I could get my sails made I can get it into the water. None of the hatches are complete and none of the non-skid is on but I figure that is all fluff. So it is done enough to get wet.

Make was determined to be "WEEKERDE" and the series/body "WSSPS16"

I can guess that that the make means Weekender but what the series is, other than 16 feet on the length, I have no idea. Nor really care

I'm thinking of using the Alki Point boat launch across the bay from Seattle. My daughter comes home from college at Cheney late this afternoon, I have to pick up my son tomorrow from Bellingham at Western, so I'm hoping late this week or early next. SWMBO has stated that there are priorities. I agreed and stated that I would get right on my boat...she was not amused :oops: :roll:

I will reserve my toast till pictures back up your claim that your boat is ready for water under her belly. I, personally have been there, several times, :wink: and ended up splashing the champagne on me tongue to drown my misery from wonderland plans. Please feel free to know that this is one old fellow sitting by, holding my breath to hear of this impending event. I also heard that a person can only hold their breath but so long, before obtaining a new custom color for the outer hull. Don't wait too long, please........gasp!!gasp!!!!gulp :twisted:

When I went in, I told them it was a home built sail boat. They didn't ask any other question, except for the value. They did take photo copies of my largest receipts.

They also offer a 'custom' HIN if you wan to wait about a month. I just went with the number they assigned for it. Walked out with the number and went and had several bronze plates stamped with tthenumber and affixed them to teh boat. One on the starboard side of the transom and the other in a conspicious place (kinda hidden) in the boat.
