Who's gonna do a Vector?

Occasionally someone posts on here about the Vector.

The last thread on it got me and my building cohort Tom motivated to order plans again. (His prints were lost to the Hallam tornado)

We're probably not going to build stock vectors this time.

We may experiment with a thinner plywood.

I myself am kicking around the idea of a carbon fiber hull with a foam core inside the panels. Maybe 1/2" thick panels, or something, I don't really know.

We're also thinking about using ultralight wheels instead of wheelbarrow wheels for weight reduction. There's a host of things we may tinker with. Purely in the spirit of experimenting, not because the original Vector has any problems. (other than I'm a little too tall to fit in it)

We're still in the "scribbles on napkins" stages, but if we get serious about it, I'll keep you all in the loop.

We have some of those kite-flying guys around here too.

They have buggies and go into open football fields (we have a few of those here in NE) and places like that.

The coolest thing was the kite surfing on the Gulf. I hooked up with a guy that was going to help teach me how to do it when I was living there, but then of course I moved away.

I have some ideas on how to make this composite Vector actually happen, but it'll take some time. 8)

We've wanted to do a new sailcar for some years, but there's no place to sail them around here (without driving far too long.) I look forward to seeing your second-generation models.
