Stump Posted June 30, 2004 Posted June 30, 2004 Jet skis are like dirt bikes, fun if used responsibly...that being said, nothing ticks me off more than having a quite paddle/row/sail on a lake and have one of those loud monsters around. I feel the same about dirt bikes when I backpack. So...the answer would depend on where you would be using it. Quote

Nothing makes me madder than some idiot on a jet ski (or any other power boat) imposing himself on people that are disturbed by his/her presence. People who use these machines responsibly don't really bother me. As long as you use it well, a jet ski can be a lot of fun. However, I believe that a person should be of sufficient age to be able to both physically and mentally control the craft responsibly. Your dad can help decide if you are old enough to do that. May I recommend contacting the closest Power Squadron or Coast Guard Auxilary and getting as much information as you can about jet skis and their requirements? Respectfully, Greg. Quote

Alexander does drive (and quite well) out 20' 150 hp river boat, a 4 wheeler, his uncle's lake boat, but those are with handy adult supervision. It'll be a few years before the he and his sister graduate to any kind of jet ski. First they must learn safety, then judgement, then manners. After all that then we'll see.
