Mr. Scott Posted February 15, 2004 Posted February 15, 2004 My romantic day consisted of Putting up trim in the house, shoveling more of this dang snow  , and then going out with Tish and singing Karoke to her. (and who says romance is dead!) Quote
Capn Trey Posted February 15, 2004 Posted February 15, 2004 My wonderful lady. . . Well, I sent her one of those E-Cards  Dave Quote
Frank Hagan Posted February 15, 2004 Posted February 15, 2004 Mr. Scott, If I sang to my wife, she would not consider it a "gift". Quote
Mr. Scott Posted February 16, 2004 Posted February 16, 2004 Aparently she thinks I do a good job! I would argue, but I have an ego to boost! Quote
Barry Pyeatt Posted February 16, 2004 Author Posted February 16, 2004 Valentines Day dinner turned into an interesting outing. Nice restaurant with a "Theme" going for the occasion and a nice little Hawaiian Beach band to play for dinner. Wonderful atmosphere and the sunset was mindboggling. (Mother nature really can put on a show when she feels like it.) We were dining on the lanai with several other couples and listening to the surf on the sand along with the nice Hawaiian music. They had a Native family that was part of the entertainment with the husband playing the Uke and the wife and the 4 kids doing the singing and hula dancing. They were all quite good too. So part of the act was to get couples from the dining room to come up and participate in the act in one way or the other. So guess who was invited up to participate....actually more like intimidated into doing it or leaving. (Some choice!) Well anyway we were escorted to the accompanyment of some fanfare to the stage where they proceded to "dress" us both for participation in the show. I don't look all that good in a grass skirt! My knees are just not quite right or something like that. Also the long black hair kinda tended to contrast with my silver beard. But that was a minor point. I was going to learn to do the Tahitian Hula along with my partner, (who has had some prior instruction in the art as well as the fact that she looks a whole lot better in the outfit than I do.) My coconut shells just wouldn't stay in place as well as hers would. :? But we proceeded with the lesson. Well, I could get the hands/knee thing going Ok. But the hip thing somehow couldn't get into gear and began to look more like the Twist than the hula. It was fun, completely humiliating, exhausting and I'm sure I will feel a lot better after the massage therapist finishes with me. We made complete fools of ourselves, had the crowd in hysterics and maybe there will be some good photos to post of the episode. Ah yes....love is in the air Hawaiian style. A nice walk on the beach after dinner settled things down. Gadzooks my legs are sore though. I'm sure the couple hours spent in the Jacuzzi must have helped though afterwards. 8) Quote
capt jake Posted February 16, 2004 Posted February 16, 2004 OK, My Valentines outing turned out to be an all nighter in the shop! Until about 1200 midnight!. She wasn't too happy, but she is talking about buying me more tools today!! I wonder what's up??? ;) Happy holiday! Quote
Steve Downs Posted February 16, 2004 Posted February 16, 2004 Our day was pretty well spent waiting for 1:00 p.m. I had promised to entertain at a neighbors house for her Dad's 87th birthday. I spent the morning making a new cover for my 1/2 scale chuckwagon and my wife did what she does best - napping. I don't see how anyone can sleep so long. I did a 45 minute program for the birthday boy singing and playing all his favorite cowboy songs. It was fun. Afterward we went to St. George and did some shopping and had dinner. I bought some material to make a strongback for the boat and we got home late. I guess we'll have our grandson over Friday night and we can get started early Saturday putting the keel together and working on the strongback. Life goes on and I want to be there. Quote
capt jake Posted February 18, 2004 Posted February 18, 2004 She is wanting me to buy the tractor that I have always wanted to buy!! (what ever model that is??).
