Guest Anonymous Posted November 28, 2003 Posted November 28, 2003 Hey Dave R1, Please keep us posted on that Baby Tender build. I just ordered plans. No baby, but I think with a glass top, it would make an awesome coffee table. Quote
capt jake Posted March 3, 2004 Author Posted March 3, 2004 OK here is my Grandson; Aiden Lee !!!!!!!!! :) :) The new occupant of the cradle I built for him! Photo of me isn't very good, but I think he is pretty good looking! Now in a few years.... we can go sailing together! [attachment over 4 years old deleted by admin] Quote
Simon Posted March 3, 2004 Posted March 3, 2004 Congrats pops! He's a fine looking fellow, and the baby's kind of cute too! Might just be the photo, but he appears to have huge hands. Perhaps he can play bass guitar for you when he gets a bit older. Quote
Greg Luckett Posted March 3, 2004 Posted March 3, 2004 Congratulation Grand Pa!!! I will attach a picture of the cradle I just completed last weekend for my Grand Daughter, Autumn, born 2/13. Perhaps it will help? Greg. Quote
capt jake Posted March 3, 2004 Author Posted March 3, 2004 Ah! I see I posted this on the wrong thread, I had one with the completed cradle, and that is the one I thought I had here. I was way tired last night. Here is the cradle. [attachment over 4 years old deleted by admin] Quote
Greg Luckett Posted March 3, 2004 Posted March 3, 2004 Very close to the one I built. The plans came from the Winfield Collection....I think. [attachment over 4 years old deleted by admin] Quote
Barry Pyeatt Posted March 3, 2004 Posted March 3, 2004 Well, congratulations Grandpa. Fine looking addition to the family. Cradle looks great too. Since it is Show and Tell, here's a photo of my son Brian's new son. Granted he is now 9 months old and a walking machine. Always a wonderful gift in my mind. Can't hardly wait until he can get into Pop's boat shop to build his first boat. But then maybe he will be more into his did's "rock crawling" than boating. Have to get to work on conditioning the kid right. [attachment over 4 years old deleted by admin] Quote
capt jake Posted March 4, 2004 Author Posted March 4, 2004 Congratulations Pop and Grandpa Greg!! ) I think I am going to be Papa. :) Greg, yes mine was built to the Winfield design; just left the hearts out per 'Moms' request. Quote
Barry Pyeatt Posted March 4, 2004 Posted March 4, 2004 Congratulations Pop and Grandpa Greg!! ) I think I am going to be Papa. :)Are congratulations in order? :? That is pretty darn'd exciting. Quote
capt jake Posted March 4, 2004 Author Posted March 4, 2004 Well I would assume congratulations are in order for ALL of us duffers! :) I am so worn out, emotionally from all of this. I am SO glad I was there for her! Thoiugh she is techinicaly my step-daughter (the GOOD one) she is 'my' daughter. I am so happy! Quote
Simon Posted March 4, 2004 Posted March 4, 2004 I think that Barry thought that you were gonna be a new dad! Is there something your not telling us Jake? My partner's parents and mine were having quite the discussion as to who would be called what as far as grandparents go, dad and mum wanted to be gran and grandad, but they were already taken by Jen's parents because here sister has kids already. There was much debate before her mum aceded to being called 'granny' and grandad's agreed to be Grandad Mike and Grandad Chris. Anyone else have this problem? "There's no damn way I'm being Pops" My dad 2003. Quote
Barry Pyeatt Posted March 4, 2004 Posted March 4, 2004 Good heavens, I was afraid you were going to tell me you were expecting too. I guess I was designated as "Pop" by my kids. My kids grandfathers were Grandpa and Poppy. My kids grandparents on my side are Granpa and Granma, on their mothers side Nanny and Poppy. Don't think I had much choice in the matter. :? I've been gone since end of Dec. and this one is walking and climbing over the rail of his crib. At nine months I'm absolutely amazed at his ability to walk, turn and his coordination. And he is one happy baby. This is his latest photo, I thought I would just share this one. She thinks my tractors Sexy. Hey babe, goin' your way, want a ride? capt jake Posted March 4, 2004 Author Posted March 4, 2004 Anyone else have this problem? Simon my man.... yes we have had that problem!!!  It is simply amazing to me how some people become so irrate over such ussues. It has only been with the females in my family, whome have such issues. At one point, my Grandmother was labled 'Grandbo' (after Rambo, the movie) as she was SO irrate about what I will call her, what she will call her, what the kids will call lher..... Oh what a mess. (I did not afix that lable). Give them their say so in the matter and make them stick to it early on, I guess... :? :? We have, or had, granny, grandy, gramms, grandma..... Grandpa(name), Grandpa(name), Grandpa(name), see a theme here?? I fell into Papa with my first grand-daughter, she chose it and I went with it, as it should be (IMO). Heck I call my Grandmother "GrandpaDean" as when I was young, I tried to say" Grandma Jean"; but it has stuck and she is OK with it (Dare not anybody else call her that!!!). OH such trivial things, eh?? Quote
Barry Pyeatt Posted March 4, 2004 Posted March 4, 2004 I agree, lets stick with more important things like, "Boat names". Quote
capt jake Posted March 28, 2004 Author Posted March 28, 2004 holding my grandson at present, and typing one handed! (like you can nituce a differebce). he's pretty coooool! :) Quote
