'Big light bulb goes off' I suppose so, what I would be more correct if I said that they are not patriotic in the same ways that Americans are. The are patriotic in a differnt way, like being fiercely protective of their culture, which they are. Something else came to mind since the last post. Many of the Government buildings in various cities had not only the French Flag, but the American, the Brittish, and maybe Russia and Germany along side them. When I asked about them the responce was that the USA and France are friends, I was a little taken aback by this, I think that the reaction here to the French was more drastic than the France's reaction to the USA's actions (e.g. I don't think they tried to rename any food). So my one excusion to a EU country was uneventful. Who are you calling PRETTY! :shock: Don't be worried, Fintan. It was the Irish ladies I thought were beautiful, and all the people very pleasant indeed. Quote
