Can anyone bring me up to speed on which B&B designs are currently available in Kit form. The info does not seem to be posted on the B&B site. I saw an indication that the Marissa is available as a kit and the CS-20 kit was in the works at one time, but I am not sure if it was ever finished. Thanks for any info.

Let me add my voice to the call for photos. Also,are you anywhere near Seattle or points north? I too plan to start my B&B build (in this case a CS-20) sometime this summer on Whidbey Island and would love to compare notes, sources of material, etc. if you wish. My plans for the CS20 are obviously different than your CS17 plans. My plans show the segments for the 1/4" section as 5" + 40" + (6+6+6+6+3 1/4) = 27 1/4 for an overall total of 72 1/4. Of course, the actual length of the piece of plywood used will have to be 3" longer than this to account for the scarf joint.

I have a somewhat similar (although, smaller) discrepancy in the CS20 plans. The 1/4" ply section is listed as 72 inches but when I look at the plans from the joint with the 3/8" ply, the length is 72 1/4" (5" + 40" +27 1/4"). Is this significant?

I have received the plans for CS20 #126 and have a newby question. On the pattern sheet showing the plywood cutouts, are the bottom and side sections dimensioned to allow the extra 3" for the scarf joint or are they dimensioned for a butt joint (in which case I assume I have to add the necessary extra length for a scarf joint)? Also, has anyone done a grid-layout version of the pattern sheets to help with the line layout (similar to that provided on the rudder sheet)? Thanks Joe

Has anyone heard if the CS20 kit is ready for prime time. When I last checked with B&B several months ago, I was told it was in the works but not yet available. Any change from that? Thanks

Already ordered and I have even cleared 30 feet of floor space in my shop. BTW - has anyone used vertical grain hemlock in one of these boats? I have a ton (literally) of rough stock left over from my house construction (I used it for all the interior trim). How is Hemlock in terms of salt water and rot? Joe

Wow! I walked right by your boat at the festival on Saturday (you were over by the CLC display, right?) Sorry I didn't recognize the boat but, at the time I was not aware of the CS-17/20 design. I do remember admiring the boat however as a very nice construction job. Congratulations. Joe

Does anyone have a good design for a scarfing jig using a router to do the cutting? A photo would help if available. I have some idea but must assume that this is something that has already been refined by the community. Don't want to reinvent any wheels. Thanks
