OK ! I have read over and over, i must be missing something. First: the the stringer at the Stern of the hull bottom.....Is it a stringer or is it a 1x4 mark to the curve and cut???? Second: the stringer that is across the hull where the forward bulkhead goes against is it at 24 inches away fron the stem edge or 24 inches from the front edge of the hull bottom and do you use the right angle(90) of the stringer against the bulkhead ? ?? :? :? :? My stringer are doing just fine, i dont mind the chatter,it makes it more lively Beside i got to make sure i make things right the first time cuz i dont think my wife will let me use the dinning room too much longer as my shop :wink:

When i first cut my stringer the angle was no going right for me until one of you good folk told me to go 67 degree as opposed to the 23 degree stated on the plan. sure enough it work Now I am ready to cut the hul Bottom so instead of the 20 degree angle they are calling for should i go 70 degree???? Might sound stupid but I dont feel like scraping a sheet a plywood. Thank a lot.

I know It can go between 6 months to infinity but from your building experience, how long did it take you and how many hours a week did you work on it . I am trying to figure out if I will be sailing this summer or next summer...... Thank for your input.

At last, keel is done.and oddly enough it's in my dinning room My Garage is not heated, so you got to do what you got to do. I'll keep you guys posted. Denis

Can 3 pieces of 1x 12 stock laminated be used for deadwood?? Thank for the answer " My wife as got to be the best, she let me bring the keel in our dinning room to glue it since my garage is not heated. "

Allright all my degree and measurement seem right but when i try to use my outer keel layer as a patern for the center i am 1 1/2 inch to short at the top of the stem anyone else encounter that ptroblem????? I could add 2 more inches at the 44inch board but will it screw everything up??? Please people bare with me , my primary language is french and reading the plan is somewhat of a challenge. Here it goes- I have cut out the stem and stem tip as per "diagram c" of page 3 in the plan.then I go on to do the Stem tip and the 2 piece doesn't match??? :? . At last i got the wood for my keel. I cut my stringers and cut the first piece of the keel today. I 'll keep you guys posted on the progress. Denis

Allright something doesn't jive, I am trying to cut my stringer i set my angle keeper to 23 degree then try to set my skillsaw blade to 23 degree and the angle is too much i cant go down that low. Well i watch the video over and over and the angle they have on there angle keeper is nowhere as small is mine. what am I doing wrong. :?

:shock: First of all Island welcome to Messing about. on your question for the wood, there is a lot of great advices on here . But please dont do like I did......DONT THINK IT TO DEATH.otherwise you will never get started. I personally I used pine. Good luck Denis
