Today I was ready to install the transom and of course there was no one in sight to help , eventualy my wife showed up but It's not as easy as the video shows :x To stuborn to give up and wait untill tommorow I started thinking :idea: I used a concrete block , place it in the middle of the hull bottom close to the transom wraped a cargo strap(ratchet style) around . I gently tighten untill the hull bottom took the perfect curve .VOILA ! All I had to do was to push the transom against the hull bottom and screw it in place. I took a picture I will share with you guys as soon as they are process. Cheers Denis

He Jake ! It was John Teesel that told me where i was wrong with my hull bottom dimension, He almost did the same mistake. Jake your boat looks great by the way

I did good progress but when I went to do the notch at the top of the stem the plan Call to do the 3/8" recess 21 inches back of the front tip of the stem and for some reason I only got 22-1/2" So Instead I did the notch 6-3/4" from the back of the stem. will this affect when it put the bowsprit? Today I attached the hull Bottom on to the keel (This of course after the good tip of my fellow builder). Then I attached the forward bulkhead and the transom. A day filled with progress and lots of bruises and splinter :wink:

Nice interior Ray It's too bad we dont get to see much of interior pic of peoples boat.

My keel is already laminated . So I thought i could either trim the hull bottom bow a bit or make the notch in the keel a bit longer but i dont want to change the angle of the forward bulkead from hull bottom to the deck......(does that make sense? ) Denis

Just about to go 3D, so I tried to see if the hull bottom fit onto the keel and..... No It doesnt . :x The hull bottom measurement by the plan should be 157" I got that... The top of the keel calls for 154" and 3/8' ...I got that also. I did the 1" 3/4 notch in the keel stem. I tried it and still, the hull bottom doesnt sit on the keel :? Do I have to force the hull bottom on to the keel or should it sit on it's own ?I just dont want to force it and damage something. I am a little confused. Is there anyone that ran into the same situation? Thanks Denis

What would be the minimum allowable temperature for the glue to dry? Because I am just about going 3D and the dinning room is getting too small for that(beside my wife would eventually say something ) I have to take building to the garage and the weaterman is calling for 52 to 55 F this weekend. Will this weather affect the glue curing time? Thanks for the info. Denis

I must be in the worst geografical area to build a weekender. Every piece of material i need to get,ends-up being a chalenge. The onlyspruce 4X4 i can find is GREEN .Back to researching again. :roll:

Would cedar be a good wood to use for the mast?? It's the only non pressure treated wood i can find. Thanks Denis

The plans call for a 10X10 piece of 3/8 plywood to join the 2 back panel of the deck. All I have are 1 inch screw can I use a 3/4 inch plywood instead??Will it affect the the design?? Thanks in advance Denis

Ok easy question. The plan called for 3 sheets of 1/2 inch Plywood 2 for the hull bottom and 1 for for cabin bulkhead and forward bulkhead.....Is there anyone that was able to fit the forward and cabin bulkhead on the same plywood sheet????? Just Curious Denis

on the plans diagram in the round of corner it call for a 2 1/2 inces radius for the cabin hatch and for a 6 inches radius under the cockpit seat how do you measure the radius???I just dont want to wing it. [attachment over 4 years old deleted by admin]

Rest assurre people....It fit out the door and once I do the deck in the dinning room that will be then end of it ,I will have to resume the construcion in the garage P.S. My wife is still with me and again this morning she told me that she loves me...so I am safe
