Boat shows usually have these things standing around in bikinis. Maybe Jeff should slip on one of those speedo things. That would get a lot of attention.

A scale model will give you something to do in your spare time. Showing the video of you beating on the skin and how tough it is would probably be a real plus as well. Your "insomnia display" really worked well!

Just had another thought. While we were working at a wildlife refuge in California, the Sierra Club had a group working with under priviledged kids. Man SOF kayaks and canoes would be a natural for youth groups to build.

Jeff, you had one really great thing going for you in Chattanooga, your display! It stood out and I think the display would have caught the attention of anyone interested in canoes or kayaks. The folks with the dragon boat paddling group didn't even have a picture of the dragon boat and of course the rowing group had the scull sitting on the ground. Pat and I talked about the possible need for a 1/2 or 1/4 scale model showing the phases of construction to introduce folks to SOF boats. Just a thought.

You guys will think I'm nuts, but the breasthook looks so good that I'm thinkinking about classing up a kayak with one. It looks positively outstanding.

"She just doesn't seem to appreciate the time I spend on the kayak as apposed to all the other things I should be doing!" Understand that! Ordered Castaway plans, got same, bought lumber for strong back, hot water heater busted. She who must be obeyed thought laundry room should be redone (it did need it). Then she decided the pressure tank needed replacing (it probably did). So I have Friday scheduled for boat beginning. She is all happy and smiley faced so I should have freedom in the shop for awhile.

Nice piece of poplar would work well and finish up nicely.

Killer, the oil really made the grain stand out. Tung oil?

"I am trying to get in a local event to display my boats". Let us know about the "local event". Might want to drive over and take a look at your boats and if it is a canoe/kayak show, just have a look around. Ward
