I have used a countersink called "Jack Rabbit" for several years. The countersink bit slides on and off a regular bit that stays chucked up in your drill. Works really well and is available in several sizes. I got mine from a catalog called "Eagle" something or other.

Frank, I took the ASA bareboat course in St. Pete back in the 80's. I think the course lasted a week. We used an O'day 37 CC sloop with 5 students and the instructor. I completely enjoyed it and hated having to leave. I would highly recommend the course to anyone. Got a diploma and everything, even used it once to rent a boat for a weekend here at home. Very expensive to rent a boat, that's why I only did it once! If you have any specific questions I will be glad to answer them, as best as I can recollect anyway. Regards, Jake Haynie

Hey, nice table saw. Is that new? And the router, did that come that way with the saw or did you add it? Are you satisfied with the Jet brand? Sorry for all the ? but I was thinking about upgrading my saw. I'm still using an old cast iron craftsman contractors saw. A dinosaur but still a good solid tool. I have a Delta 14" bandsaw and love it! You and I are at about the same stage of completion on our weekenders, only I've been at it for two years. Good luck Jake

Adla, my $.02. I think the wheel looks good on these boats, real salty. But I don't like the idea of a wheel that I have to reach behind me to turn. Personally, I'm a wheel in front of me kind of guy and from what I've read on these boards there is a tedious adjustment period before they work well. I prefer the tiller, quicker to come about, more positive, more feedback. As I've watched you build your weekender I am confident you will have no problem making the mods to your rudder box. I just bought from Raka a six gallon kit and 30 yds. of 6 oz. cloth, 3 pumps and 6 mixing pots. Including shipping ($40!!) it came to $400 and change. Does anybody know how much is enough to do a weekender? The plans say 2 gallons but I didn't think that was near enough. Jake
