Kudzu Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 We had a booth at Southeastern Paddlesports and Outdoor Expo at Charleston this weekend and it was a total bust. Rained Friday and we gave out less than 5 business cards! Saturday was nicer but for what ever reason the crowds were not there. Friend who worked it last year said Saturday was a mad house, wall to wall people. This year I think all the vendors were hurting! Hardly anyone showed up. I saw very few boats be loaded up (sold). Last 30 minutes we finally had some interest and made a new friend, Anja from Germany. We packed up and didn't even go Sunday since it is traditionally the slow day. I find it hard to imagine how it could be any slower though! So we packed up and moved down the coast and are taking a much needed vacation this week. Any orders placed will be shipped as soon as we get back. We have done all the events we could this spring and looking back at the money spent and return we have seen so far it doesn't appear these are worthwhile for us. Quote
Action Tiger Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Bummer. Except for the vacation part. I hope y'all can make some lemonade out of these lemons... Quote
Dav3xor Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 I used to do trade shows and conventions for my little business. Never made a lot of money, but got to meet a lot of people, and I thought it was a good way to get my name out there. You also learn really quickly what's right/wrong with your product. Quote
