Dave R1 Posted May 22, 2003 Posted May 22, 2003 Curious to know if anyone has installed a bock in the bottom of the cokpit near the cabin bulkhead for the mainsheet. Our Y-boat has a ratchet block that is open on one side so you can hook the sheet through it if desired. When sailing single-handed I really like that block. It allows my to use biceps for pulling in the sheet rather than triceps. I'm building raised floorboards for my cockpit and I'm thinking of mounting the block on the center board. By the way, can anyone think of the proper name for that block? It escapes me right now and I was unlucky in my search for a picture to post with my question. Quote

I played with that idea when trying to decide how to get a bimini on the Saralee and still have proper visability and control of the main. Give it a try nd let us know how it works out. Quote
