Now there's something I wouldn't try while singlehanding. Flying a loose topsil like that is a lot of work, let alone flying a forsil on a wisker pole. How I wish we could carry that much sail on the vacationer. Of course then the Vacationer wouldn't way just 900 lbs.

How the hell did you get one that only weighs 900 lb? My trailer weighs more than that Those are nice photos...

Craig, I'm only going by what the Stevensons say. In the plans they say it should come out weighing 850 lbs. I'm hoping mine comes out less than 1000 lbs.

Yeah, that's probably about what my trailer weighs too.

Traditional construction, 39' and study plans are available $75. These drawings have been updated to make it a little more cruising friendly without loosing the traditional Friendship appeal and look.

The Maine Maritime Museum in Bath sells plans for the McKie Roth 22' Friendship. The plans sell for around $60.00. You're supposed to be able to scale the plans up to build the real thing.

Bolger Books has two sizes of plans for a Friendship:

I think 18' and a 22'

The Mystic Seaport Museum has an extensive library of plans, among them Friendship plans. They sell blueline copies of them. They get a fair number of requests for these so they know where they are.
