Curiouser and curiouser. I've have done cedar strip canoes in the past, but the more I look at your projects the closer I come to being a convert.

One of the primary reasons I want to build one of these boats is to eliminate a ton of sanding that is required on other wood boats. Sanding and working with fiberglass/epoxy are not my favorite things.

Doug, that is the other big thing that drew me and keeps me. I will do it, but I really don't like working with fiberglass and epoxy either. Great products but I don't enjoy working with them.

I couldn't see where I could post a picture at your blog so I will post here. I just wanted to give you a look at the scarfing sled I made the other day. It really worked well for me and I can adjust the angle/length of scarf cut for different sizes of stringers. It has a slot cut for the saw blade into the base of the jig so there is platform on the right side of the blade for the cutoff to fall on.

I like that jig.. I can see one of those that would swing all the way to 90 and back as close to the blade as possible...for infinite aplications....

I'm always building jigs...and tools etc..over the years..
