Barry Pyeatt Posted April 12, 2003 Posted April 12, 2003 Hey guys, I'm having a little trouble with the format here. :?: I'm back on the mainland now after being absent from reality for several months and I would like to change my Avatar to something else. But when I get into the profile and try to delete the existing one or go to the gallery it locks me into this loop of logging in and then switching back to the profile and then to Loggin in, etc. Don't know what to do to change that. :? I have a new one I would like to use from my own computer and would appreciate any helpful hints to break the loop. Thanks, Barry Quote

When I go to Profile to change the Avatar and scroll down and check on the Delete box it switches me to the login screen. Just seems to be in a loop. When I click on the Submit button it logs me off and asks for a new login. I login and it switches back to the profile screen and then it starts all over again. :roll: Lets face it...I may not be good, but I'm slow. :? Quote
Derek Posted April 13, 2003 Posted April 13, 2003 Barry, just tested here and seems to be working. I am going to go the cookie route again here. Try deleting all your temp internet files and cookies from your system after deleting the avatar from your profile, then log in again to enable a brand new cookie. And as Jake pointed out, are you also typing in your password before submitting changes? Trying to sort this out for you. I just enabled a board like this for the retiree group I work for, so it's good troubleshooting for me. My thoughts were, Barry, that since you've been away, the cookie on your system is 'aged'. With that said, I'll shut up about cookies, it's making me hungry. :wink: Quote
Bill Posted April 13, 2003 Posted April 13, 2003 I just tried changing mine and didn't have a problem. I went to the profile page (while logged in) and just deleted the old one (submitted the deletion)..went back to the profile page, from the Main forum page and added the new one, via submit upload from file folder. It changed it without any "re-logging in" or having to submit my password etc... Bill Quote

Restarted my computer because it locked up. Signed on and went to Messing-about.com Clicked on Login Entered information and logged in Clicked on the Profile button Scrolled down to the Avatar section and clicked on Delete. The check mark appears. Clicked on Submit and the Login screen reappears. Logged in again and it took me back to the Profile screen again. Scrolled down to the Avatar section and clicked on Delete The check mark appears. Clicked on Submit Login screen reappears. Logged in again and it took me back to the Profile screen again. Scrolled down to the Avatar section and clicked on Delete The check mark appears. Clicked on Submit Login screen reappears. Etc. Etc. Finally gave up and logged in again and entered this reply. :? Maybe I can be lowered to a Gedunk Gofer again. :roll: Quote

If you are using Internet explorer you can change this setting by going into the menu Tools-> option Internet Options a new window should open. Depending on your explorer version click either the Security tab or the Privacy tab. If there is a privacy tab click the button Advanced and edit the settings so you are either are prompted or automaticaly accepted. If there is no options or no Privacy tabs go to the Security tab and it should be under one of the Custom options available. Quote

So...I will just continue to think of the palm tree over the black sand beaches of Hawaii and sipping a nice fruit drink to keep cool. :wink: Warm ocean breezes, soft evening surf lapping at the sides of the boat. Moonlight over the palm trees. Well....guess I will just have to head back to that little grass shack. :roll: Quote
