I just received the photo cd of the Bay River Skiff and it appears the boat is built by attaching the sides to the stern, inserting the forward bulkhead and then the keel batten, then the boat is flipped and the bottom panels are put on one at a time.  Can anyone confirm if this is the method of construction?

My BRS was built 15 years ago and some things have changed but I'm sure you have it a bit confused.

The building sequence is covered in the plans much better than any description we can give here.  Read the plans at least twice (maybe more) to get the method firmly set before starting work.  Then specific questions can be addressed on the forum.

I haven't purchased the plans yet.  According to the photos, however, I'm pretty sure it goes together differently than the stitch n' glue rowing skiff I built.  That one was bottom panels stitched together, opened like a book, side panels stitched on, and then transom.  The BRS appears, from the photo cd, to take the bottom panels last.

My first boat was a D4 dingy.  It had the bottom stitched and unfolded.

The BRS 15 is not that way.  The side panels are attached to the bulkheads, transom and bow piece and  a center keel plank is attached.  The bottom is not stitched at the center line.

The instructions are very good and easy to follow.
