I love Interlux Brightsides paint

...especially when I'm applying it to my boat, yay!! 

The weather finally allowed me to pull the tarp and get acquianted with the boat again.

After two months of off-and-on messing about with my vacationer, I finally reached a point today where I was applying paint.  (Instead of epoxy). 

I'll have pix when I'm further along and it's worthy of a camera.

It's been years (literally) since I've used Brightsides, but man do I love that paint.

All the major paint manufactures have dramatically improved their products in the last ten years. You can get spray quality with roll and tip techniques, which was unheard of a decade ago. Gloss is higher, durability, UV protection, everything is better.

Glad you like it- I knew SOMEBODY must or they'd not keep selling it. I DON'T like it

Hard to work, dark colors have poor coverage even when spraying it, extremely subject to runs and sags, and I've not found the durability to be a bit better than say, ACE Porch and deck one part urethane.

I've done four boats totally with it, and the interior of one other- I'll not buy another can of it.

LOL- got THAT right- even a grey deck will blister your feet. But three of these boats went to the Chicago or surrounding Illinois area. They had white decks, but darker hulls.

To me it just seems like it had great workability.  Roll and tip method yields a nice finish for me.  And here's the kicker:  After 8 years or so, the paint still matches the original.  That alone is enough for me.

(Or maybe it's just that when I smell those fumes it takes me back to those heady days when I was close to finishing it...?)
