keithmclean Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 I just wanted to let you all know that we are having a messabout on Lake Hartwell GA on the weekend of June 21st. It's going to be at Hart State Park and we are planning a huge event with model boats for the kids to build, a cardboard boat race in which kids will build and design their own boats then take them to the water and climb aboard for a race. There will also be knot tying classes, a pirate battle, and maybe even a country/rock band playing in the park for us. I'm not sure if our CS20 will be done by then, but if it is (or maybe even if it isn't), we'll certainly try to make it (we're in Augusta, GA). The only hitch is that we've just put in a bid on a house, so that may fall right around our closing time, in which case we'll be tied up. Quote

There will be several folks with and without boats so don't worry if you show up boatless, we'll get you on a boat for a sail. If you are in the area, come on down it is a great way to spent the day, night, or weekend and if you have your own boat bring it on down and strut your stuff we would be glad to have you in our armada ;D There will be plenty to do and allot of activities for the kids so please come on down. wkisting Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Bad news... may not be able to make it to Lake Hartwell this weekend. We're getting the run-around on a house we bid on. Basically, the offer expired, but the seller (a bank... it's a foreclosure) has been lax and has not responded yet. We've got to stick around to pursue the deal, and to look at other properties in case this deal falls through. (We need to be in a house by July or August, so it can't be postponed.) If anything changes, I'll certainly come, but it looks unlikely as of now. Regardless, have a great messabout! Next time, I'll have a CS20 to bring, and I'll definitely be there. Quote

We didn't get a lot of sailing in this time because of all the other activities going on. The kids had a great time making boats and learning to tie knots.
