Blacksmith Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 About a month ago, I was going to post an update on the Microtrawler and the progress on the wheelhouse. We had a bit of a set-back. On February 2, I could not sleep, was up in the chair and smelled something odd. Fire in the chimney and water heater. Got the girls up and out, called the fire department, and they got the fire out in about 2 hours. No major damage, but a lot of smoke, and a mess. The only real loss was the camera that got dropped in the clean up So, a bit late, but happy to be able to still post these. Stephen Quote

Sorry, I just can't let the irony go +m'Dad was a lieutenant with Albuquerque FD for 20+ years. Blacksmith Posted May 5, 2007 Author Posted May 5, 2007 Ray, the 110 was an add on. I have this situation called winter up here, and at 20 below, I still WANTED to work on the boat. Once I got the wheel house enclosed, I used a small electric heater so I did not freeze when I was doing stuff like pulling the wire. I got tiered of tripping over the extension cord, so I bought a socket that is meant to plug an on board battery charger into, and ran two outlets. Now, I have shore power hookup. Sort of. Not sure how much I will use it now that we are done with construction, it would take one heck of a cord for most of the lakes around here If I am at a camp ground with power, I may use it then. I do have a generator, but it is big and loud, and I just don't feel like dragging it around with me that much. Quote
