If you've never been there before, it's a pretty big place. Key Largo is about an hour from Miami. Key West is another 2-1/2 from there. Each area has is specialties... Bill Posted February 16, 2003 Posted February 16, 2003 I used to stay at the Sugarloaf Lodge. It was pretty resonable in cost compaired to staying right down in the town, which can get pretty exspensive. The Lodge is around Mile Marker 21 or 22 if memory serves me. The have a small marina, nice resteraunt with a separate bar inside. They also have a nice little tiki bar outside that opens around 4:00 pm. Iv'e fallen off my stool many times there exchanging stories with the captains of charter boats..it's a local watering hole, was very friendly. The rooms were clean. It has a miniature golf thing that was sort of overgrown. You can take a swim in the pool or right outback in the little bay. I'd stay there again..While in the keys, the only thing a room is for, is just to crash out, so who cares how good it really is... There is also a KOA campground nearby so you might want to check that out, it can make things really cheap too... There used to be a bus that ran up route one, you may want to see if it still does. It's safer to take the bus than to attempt driving once you've had a good time down on Front and Duval street Tell em I said Hello over at the Hog's Breath Saloon, I'm still not sure if they will let me back in :wink: :wink: Have Fun....
