Long Over due Kingston update

My sails came in last week and I had the primer out this past weekend. The snow from last week metled and the 40mph winds have died so I just had to test fit the sails and measure for line. Here are some pictures thanks for being patient I know several people have asked for an update.

Main and the genny up, I also had a working jib made. The designer also has a drifter and a storm jib, I have not ordered those and will put those on my wish list for another year.

Wow, nice looking boat. I am building a pocket cruiser, if I had seen this boat, I would have given it serious concideration. Can't wait to see the finished boat. Keep on keeping on.

Jim, what are you doing for portholes? I have round opening ones with a 9" opening that I won't be using... I can show them to you in December.

Hey Scott, I bought 2 Beckson 8" opening ports with screens from www.Fisheriessupply.com they are the white plastic.

Oyster, lets see if these pictures work. These ended up being too big for a boat I am working on. The opening is 9" and the flange is 12"

Geezz Scott had I known you had those babies I would have built something more tradtional to go around them. The Kingston is very modern she will be all stainless. Thanks for thinking of me but I am set for this one.

Mr. Oyster, as you well know that the devil is in the details, glassing the cockpit, building dry lockers and so on. Mike she has been comming along nicely I am rather happy with the progress and hope to have her painted for the MidAmerica boat show here in Cleveland mid January. That will be the first aniversery of the first cut. I will have to keep up my pace because the boat name RUDUNYET is already been used in my fleet.

Scott the measurements are a few inches larger than the cabintop. Bummer, but on my next boat I will have hull sides that are made to order for those to fit in and will followup with a pm if you still have not found a home for them.

Same problem here Oyster. However, wouldn't they look nice on Jim's boat? Give it a nice nautical air and bigger openings for air circulation. Come on, Jim, you are itching to dog down some portholes!! Your cabin sides look plenty big to accomodate these and think about how light your cabin would be.

Jim, nice progress. Sure looks more like a boat now that she's right side up, and has sails and spars in the air. Can't wait to see her on the water. Think this summer will see her wet or will you be taking your time with the interior first?

Stuart, one lake I have identified as a possibility of an April meeting is Cave Run Lake in Kentucky. Looks like a very beautiful setting! I will be bringing my modified C12 with cabin all ready for sleeping. With all of that nice space in his Kingston and me wanting to try out the cabin, I assume that we will be sleeping on the boats. However, there is a nice campground on that lake.
