Two or three years back I epoxied my tear ducts shut. My eyes swelled up so bad, I couldn't see for quite some time. Ventilation, mask, gogles and protective clothing, no problem.

I work with biohazard organisms for a living, and I can honestly say I am probably just as afraid of epoxy as I am bio bugs

Today, I have been making mold patters for the CY. The tracing paper/butcher paper, is working out well. Tomorrow morning, I may even go buy some cheep plywood and start cutting the molds out. Well I hope that is not wishful thinking. My son is visiting and I think the draft has just been reinstated :wink:

Greg, I don't think I would even attempt the CY without Nick's site. I also have the WB mags three issue CY feature to work off of. Some of those guys are taking a long time to build, nice boats, I may take my time too. But who knows, sometimes I go beserker.

Oyster has a point about epoxies (was it that bad a week or so ago Mike?) Some are much worse then others. I use a proprietary mixture from a local manufacture which is clearly harder on me then others I use. The shear mention of it to Oyster, nearly made him break out. I'm lucky and don't seem to badly affected by it, though can get reactions if I'm not careful about working up wind and keeping covered. I know people who can't even drive by while someone is working with it, without a reaction. It builds up in you system until you can't tolerate any more, then you get reactions, some faster then others. Three headed babies aren't cool, protect yourselves.

I deal with it every day of my life now. I am permantly destroyed. Some days are worse than others. I can clean the shop up, or take the trash out, and that night I will glow in the dark no matter how much protection I have used that day. My clothes are even carriers of dust. When I remove my shirt and do not wash my face, my eye lids will begin to fester up and itch. I have now learned a lot of how to use it and deal with this side affect.

There is a pill out that helps folks deal with the reaction, but this soul refuses to take much of anything, just because I live with a healthcare provider. The increased resistance to drugs by the bodies and the severe cases of "Mrsa" [staff infections] going around the country and the world, now steers me away from artifically induced antibodies. I also live with a silent killer each day, with many healthcare providers being carriers. But thats for another topic on another soapbox.
