Not far to go now. I have to do another coat of Cetol on the deck and then start attaching fittings. I am going to do the rub rail and coaming in the cockpit after I launch and get some wood I am waiting for.

Beautiful work, Richard. I like the colors and finish. You don't know it, but your earlier pictures were what inspired me to build the CS17. Now you're pushing me on to finish. Thanks for sharing your experience and handywork.

I notice a cut-out for the outboard. Did you isolate the area so that water cannot get into the aft compartment? I have been thinking of this for my CS20. Installing a self bailing splash well too.

I have a 'box' inset into the afterdeck - it has two small drain hole through the transom. It is all sealed so no water will get into the back compartment (unless my hatch leaks!) I will post a picture in a few days when I am back in town. (I am doing a lot of work away from Auckland at the moment- frustrating because I can not dive downstairs and do a few more bits)
