Just a few images for you to see this great little boat fest in Victoria BC Canada. I try to go each year.

It is a good time for my wife and I, as most of our oldest friends live there (as we once did).

Victoria is one of the great cities of Canada John. I am sure you will have a dandy time. Good time of the year to go as well.

Been nearly 11 years since we last visited. When we were there we loved it! Butchart Gardens are a must!

Well in two weeks I had lots of work planned (as we did this weekend), but i think we may take a break and head North. :)

Thanks for the vicarious visit, Tim. Victoria is one of the great cities of the planet! It has ferries, lots of other boats and many people mad for horticulture, not to mention the gardens. Heaven on earth for me.

Now I know where you were hiding this weekend.

Looks like you've had a lot of boats to look at. I'll bet it was a good time.

I haven't been to Vic in 15 years or so. Yep, the gardens are gorgeous. You'll probably find this funny: My ex and I went there on our honeymoon in '89. We were just starting out in life and didn't have a camera just yet. So my out-laws offered their 35mm TTL camera... they also said there was a brand new film in it. My ex took about 257 pics in the gardens. When we were at the exit I asked how many rolls of film she used..... after a big pause she said we're still on the first one....but there are still shots available. Anyway, I opened the darned thing and it was empty... Go figure! Now we're divorced :-)

Victoria is called 'Garden City'. There are little gardens in between streets and at intersections that just kill me.

I was walking around my sons neighborhood and saw all kinds of odd and interesting plants, flowers and trees. One fellow had a palm tree in his yard.

Even though I lived there twice, it remains huge treat to roam around.

They now have a 'promenade' all the way around the inner harbour.

Celosia and Ageratum, I think. But half the fun is not knowing what on earth that plant is and seeing plants from a huge range of climate zones happily hanging around together. We went there kind of by accident as a side effect of driving from Boston to Vancouver for Chinese food many years ago (started out as a trip to Kansas City for barbecue and baseball and evolved). I dragged the crew on every ferry we came anywhere near.
