Opus is gone as of saturday morning and I really do wish her new owners a lot of happy times with her.

Felt pretty blue this weekend, even went for a sail yesterday and all I kept thinking is how this new boat is so different than Opus. Opus had style and turned heads, this one is just another clorox bottle that looks like every other sailboat on the river. Yeah, this one is bigger with a real cabin but I never used the cabin on Opus anyway.

Sorry if this is boring but I'm kind of cryin' in my beer. I've heard that the two happiest days in a boat owners life is the day they buy the boat and the day they sell it. Bull. There was nothing happy about selling my girl.

And make sure not to make the same mistakes as you did with Opus, just new ones.

(I am assuming you are not the one, unique, boatbuilder who doesn't make mistakes, 'cause it ain't me either :shock: )

One thing that can make the difference between your boat and "every other sailboat on the river" are some personal touches. Custom gratings, a laid deck, wooden transom, trailboards, nameplates, custom fenders, baggywrinkles, etc etc...
