I might leave transom pulley on the far end of the sprit pole to keep it out of the tiller way. This hole is if you want to sail the boat just with the main and it moved back from the bow like a single mast design would be. Not sure if anyone has sailed a Core Sound 17 with a mast in that location as a single mast boat. I find that the sprit pole points fit tight into the sail loops and I might not need the buggee cord loops to hold them. Will have to see when I test sail. Im happy with how smooth the sail slides in the track on the mast. I was going to take the boat out for a test run a tweak the sails today but the wind is coming out a bit more then I wanted so I will wait for another day.

The main mast is up now and the design stepping the mast is easy with this boat the way it was setup

I moved the pulley the pulley closer to the point and what do you think of that???

I have the Mizzen sail up and how do the pulleys and lines look? I see why they moved the pulley farther forward on the sprit pole, it is lined up better overhead of the block to the transom but the tiller not clear of it. I placed it back at the end now and stays clear of the tiller.

True a light for anchor would be an idea or flag streamer etc.

I might install a padeye on the main to hold the clew on the point. I going to raise the sails tomorrow in the morning wind will be nothing and will take a look at how they fit on the points of the sprit poles. I think I will just use the hole on the mizzen for the bungee cord loop to the point since its already there. The place a eyepad on the main near the point to hold it in place since my points are not that long.

I don't think I will ever use one of those.

There are two Pad eyes on the front of the mizzen mast maybe so you could hook the pulley on the spit pole to two different locations higher and lower for some reason. The main mast only has one.

Do you use a long D or shorter D. I could use a short looks like if I go that way on the halyards For now I will just tie a knot I guess. Im going to raise the mast today and maybe install the sprit poles and add the sails if the wind is calm to see where I want to install the eye pads on the end of the sprit pole. I want to see where the clew comes to on the pole.

Maybe a Buntline hitch.

They don't look like they have been used. Is it better just tie a knot to lift the sail or use a clip on the sheets like some use?

You can take it out of the holder and use it as a hand compass.. Its old.

If there is ever a Core Sound 17 mentor in my area to give me a run through of sailing the boat and would help me understand faster Im sure. Saint James City, Florida 33956 I would love to have someone show me. I will take it out on a real calm day and see if I can figure out all the sail rigging. Maybe I will be able too. Don has shown me lots of pictures so I might be able to.

That is what the problem was. The pull down rope had moved off to the side a little and caused the problem. Its working now.

Im thinking the pull down rope might be stuck. I have it on my lift now and going to use my Kayak to access the rudder and see if I can figure out why its jammed. The bolt is not real tight so wonder what changed after I launched the boat? Can lift it up or down now. Was working smooth earlier.
