  1. I have a '76. It's certainly solid. I imagine a 14 year old would be a very nice boat. There were several improvements made over mine which addressed the lack of area and affinity to slip sideways in mild winds (rig changes and keel board). There's an active online community for support and parts are available from Hutchins who remain extremely supportive. It's not going to be a 'seat of the pants' ride. I really like all of Ted Brewers designs.
  2. may I ask what types of 'hobby' wood stock you're using? thanks
  3. try contacting the bloke that runs intheboatshed.net blog he posts a wealth of information about wooden boats around uk.
  4. view around the dock saturday AM. a cs, ec22, not sure and belhaven. test to check linking... I have a fair few clips but the are extrememly random messabout content.
  5. hello everyone, I have not posted previously, (nothing yet to say). I will be driving up from Columbia SC, early Friday morning (~6 hour trip). I will be bringing an extremely rustic (as in beat up) compac 16 with me. It's all I have until I have up enough courage to start belhaven hull #38. Any passengers welcome! If someone can spare the time to improve my atrocious sailing skills over the w/end, I'd much appreciate it. I have an affinity with lee shores and drifting. regards jp
