  1. Yes it is strange. It does not relax, it expands. Not after the first coat. In my test I did only one coat. Also strange that it shrinks when you heat it (painted) but relaxes when it cooles again. Perhaps water based paint is the good way.
  2. Yes good news for the next build, but this one? I am very disappointed in the outcome. I don't mean that its your foult. Good to not selling this fabric anymore.
  3. https://daankayaks.danielskunststoffen.nl Location: The Netherlands Posted 2 hours ago I just finished my Siskiwitbay SOF and used the 9oz uncoated polyester cloth I ordered from Kudzu. After making a test piece which I painted with 2 component polyurethane paint i decided to do the kayak with those paint. There were no issues in the test. After the first layer there were no problems. But during the second layer the cloth did relax. It expanded in the longitudinal direction. I hoped that it would shrink again when dry but no. The third layer made it worse. Between second and third layer I tried to heatshrink with the iron and that worked. When it was hot the wrinkels were gone but at cooling down they came again. Before painting the kayak was drum tight. I have the idee that the solvent is the problem but Jeff had no issues with his paint where he thinned the first layer. It is pitty but I will have tot do with it. I chose this paint for its durabiliy. Next time I will use water based paint on 9 oz cloth. Here are some pictures. Quote

  5. Yes that was the case. Thank you for the design and the website. Daniel
  6. It works, the photo's are shown now but the text is doubled. I mean that at the end the tekst is repeated with blanc photo squares. So something is still wrong in your website.
  7. Still no pictures for adding hatches at http://www.kudzucraft.com/web//?s=hatches
  8. How doe you get the water out when the floor boards are lashed in place? There is no way to reach in with a sponge. When you step in with wet feet or your paddle drips in summer when your skirt is open you always get some water in.
