I'm finishing up a stitch & glue canoe and have started looking at small sailboats. I'm looking for something that could carry 1-3 small/medium-sized adults on New England lakes, but still be small enough to comfortably singlehand. In my younger days I raced Sunfish, and crewed on Lightnings and a variety of small racing dinghys. So far the Spindrift 12 looks good, as do the Bay River Skiff 15 and Core Sound 15, but I'm wondering if the latter two would be too much for a small adult to sail alone. I know that small simple boats tend to get used more than large complex ones. Ian Oughtred's Shearwater or Gannet also look interesting.
Thoughts/comments/suggestions?
