  1. Tom How did the race go this weekend? What type craft were you sailing? I have always believed that old age and treachery wins out over youth and enthusiasm. Duane
  2. Tom, Thanks for the reply. I am pleased to learn the pilothouse top can be raised,as I thought that CG/Windage problems might be a problem. I would like to extend the pilot house top, and a little more headroom would be nice, even though I'm only 5'-10" tall. What are your thoughts on on increasing the camber or curvature of the roof? I am in full agreement with your ideas for a custom tank. I will try to include a photo of a rough (very rough) sketch of some of my ideas. Duane
  3. Tom, Saw Henry and De De when they passed through Grafton several weeks ago. The sight of a BJ28 in my own back yard reignited that old boatbuilding fever. We talked, some years ago, about lengthening the 28 on either side of the engine, providing a little more flotation, and easing entry from a dinghy or the water. I noticed De De had a little problem with cockpit flooding when loaded down for cruising and extra people on board. Have you given this mod any more thought? Thanks, Duane
  4. Thanks for the info, that must be the one we visited. Duane
  5. Bluejacket boats do draw attention, De De was the talk of Grafton when Henry and Diane passed through Grafton earlier this month. For me, it reignited that desire to build one of Toms hulls. A stroke changed my life in March of 2013, putting a boat build onto some kind of "bucket list". But now, after 18 months of improvement, maybe it is time to get started. Several years ago my wife and I took a look at a BJ28 being completed in western PA. What is the status of that boat?
  6. We (My wife and I) heated water by using a Honda inverter style generator and marine water heater, at http://www.homedepot.com/p/Ariston-4-0-gal-6-Year-1500W-120-Volts-Point-of-Use-Mini-Electric-Water-Heater-GL4-0/100011293#specifications, there is even a nicer heater unit. Starting the gen an hour before anchoring provided hot water all evening, and no noise.
