Ya know some days

it just don't pay to get out of bed. But you do it anyways and man o man nothing goes right and that is only the begining of what turns out to be a truely terrible day. I hate this stuff ya know. Makes me wonder why the hell I even put up with this crap. For what I ask you, for what.

I hate days like this, I really, really do hate these days. I think I will go jump off the god damn bridge and end this crap. Let the assholes sort out the remains if they can find them.

I am in a truely foul mood today. Sorry in advance, but hell I just gotta say something don't matter if it's right or wrong, just something.

Well, don't feel too lonely. I've had whole years like that. Eventually it gets better and you forget about those days, or it gets worse and you long to have them back!

uh, paul, i think you need to find a "happy place"(preferably one without a bridge). just remember its just a day, and if the next day is just as bad, its just another day. better days always come....always! tough it out.

Tell me about it-

Tuesday of last week, my wife taught a computer class to a older woman who had become a good friend. Wednesday night or Thursday morning the woman died in her own garage- apparent heart attack.

My wife was doing laundry Thursday and while hanging out clothes, a bird crapped on her.

I came home to find her sitting on the couch, not in a great mood. She had just heated a cup of coffee in the microwave, which I got out and handed to her. As she was taking the first sip, she spilled it right into her lap- Yep- direct hit.

Later that evening she drove over to visit the woman who had found the body, and THAT womans' dog bit her as she was leaving the house.

Tell me about your bad day

Charlie sounds like Laura had a bad day. I know how it feels. My bad day was about a couple of things, the truck and the new loft space that is now not new loft space.

The truck was for sale the day the guy buys it [yesterday] the lights go out on it while he's counting out the money then the ignition breaks. So anyways after three hours we get most all of it working, not all but most. So he still buys it but for a couple of hunderd less. I needed that couple of hunderd too. That was the afternoon.

Now in the morning I get the lease for the new loft space, this has been a search that has lasted for 4 frustrating months, and I am reading it and going huh? thats not what we have been discussing, and you want how much more now? and what is this about business hours only being between 11 am and 9 pm monday thru friday only?

OK half a dozen phone calls [all long distance of course] I am still not pleased with the lease but the place is real nice so maybe I can work around a few things. Then it's talking to the utility companies, thats when it got real bad. All I kept saying was you want how much to change the electric to my name, you want how much to change the gas over to my name. Really? don't you think that is just a little high maybe? Geez by the time I sat down and added it all up they wanted more in deposits than I spend on utilities in an entire year. Well that ain't gonna work. So the search continues, just what I want to do.

So all this and I am trying to get some work done. Oh yeah I did get some work done. I managed to spend all day just to get three panels of a sail cut out.

Well it's time to eat, so I make up a nice roast put it in the oven and turn it on. I go into my office to check email, and I smell smoke. Walk back into the kitchen and the stoves on fire. The wiring to the oven burned up. Well so much for dinner. So I say well I will call for a pizza, ok 40 minutes cool I'll take a shower, a nice hot shower will feel good today. So while I am in the shower they show up 20 minutes early with the pizza and there is no answer [i'm in the shower of course]. Well they come back a little later and I pay for the pizza they split and guess what the pizza is now cold and I no longer have an oven to heat it up.

So it was cold pizza and a few cold beers and a vent post on the board. It just wasn't my day yesterday. Should have stayed in bed.

But I am better today well so far any way. Talk to you later.

None of you above know what a BAD day is. Came back from a 10 day vacation to find our nice home flooded with water. Three stories with ruined capet, water in walls, kitchen cabinets falling apart. It will be at least 30 days before all is restored. New capet, new cabinets, new laminate, and living in a 21 foot travel trailer for that long. Sure glad I have very good insurance. No the boat is just fine, but work has come to a halt. Garage and shop filled with furniture and all the rest. To all, have a NICE day.

Arnie, what caused the flood? If you guys are getting that much rain, send it our way. The Missouri river through SD is about 20 FEET below normal. We could use lots of water here.

Bad day, oh yes, I take it that you had a bad day in your business? Sorry to hear this, but it happens to one and all . But sometimes it does help to asault the keyboard with messages to help make it through the night. Walk away and come back another day. Rain Mike, five inches just yesterday. It is interfering with the clarity of the water on the sounds and beach area. It is truely going bad for me. I can't fish for the dirty water. :wink: Seriously though, we all have had those days that its like walking in quick sand in life.

Mike I heard through the grapevine, the mission was scrubbed for your family member.? Cheer up fellows.

Understand Paul. I have never really figured out why the "powers that be" consider it cricket to stick it to businesses. My electricity at the shop is almost exactly double what it is at the house. The phone is about triple, just to have it sitting there, never mind any calls on it. And the deposits were both double also.

But today the sun is shining, I'm off for the rest of the weekend, and there are two sailboats outside that need some attention

Ouch Arnie! Did you turn off the water to the house before you went on your last trip. I always turn off the water and the water heater and some other electic stuff before going away on any trip.

Charlie, I hear ya. But cricket well I don't know the game really but have kinda grown to think of it more like hockey and small business is the puck. I always love to hear all these people running for office say how they want to make it better for small business's and how we are the back bone of the economy and all. If we be the back bone then this economy has some real serious back problems.

I won't get into what I think should be done, lets just say it would not be popular with big business or people who are just employed by a business as it may cost them a few bucks. And you know how it gets when it costs them a couple of bucks. Well enough said or maybe too much already. :roll:

Paul, I didn't turn off anything because a friend was staying a few nites and also watching my cat. Something in the tank of one of the upstairs toilets broke and allowed lots of water to get somehow on the floor, then downstairs to the living room, dining room, and kitchen area, from there down into the basement. Wiped out all the carpet upstairs and 1st floor area. Cabinets had to come out to get to the walls in the kitchen to dry them out. They were built in so were wrecked takeing them out. We will be camping in the front yard until about mid to late June. Never again will I go overnite without shutting the house down. (Cat to the kennels) Arnie. P.S.: The jib didn't get wet in the basement.
