holmsy2000 Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Hello all, I have finally got everything together and cut out ready for assembly and have run in to one little problem, on the tangerine canoe there is a stringer running along the inside of the boat and on some frames it is nearly opposite a stringer on the outside of the frame, if they were exactly opposite it would be easy to lash them together but because they are offset i'm not quite sure how to do it, any ideas? Kudzu Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Photo?? P.S. OK, reread it this morning and just realized you are talking about the stringer to rest the seats on? I would just lash the outside stringer first and then do the seat stringer. If you run into a lashing that wants to slide into one of the stringer notches, I suggest taking your small round rasp or file and cutting a SMALL groove for the lashing to lay in. That will keep it from sliding. If that is not the problem then I need to see a photo. P.P.S. One other idea. After looking at the plans you could even drill a small hole in the stringer frame and just pull the lashing through that rather than go around the frames. Keep it small and centered in the frame!
