sealing dacron at mirage drive hole

I thought everything would "stick" to dacron but on the test panel where I used epoxy to adhear the dacron to okume did not take. The dacron laid down nice and looked great, but when I pulled up the edge of the fabric the dacron pulled right up with just a little bit of effort. I read somewhere this is similar to peelply. It does leave a nice uniform rough textured surface on the okume.

I used Jeff's plan to construct a lip at the drive hole so that I can clamp the dacron between the 2 pieces of wood, and will go with proven paint for the skin.

I like that mechanical seal idea, much like clamping the deck skin between layers of the combing. I hope you will keep reporting on the project, I would love to make one of my boats into a "pedal kayak".
