huckstump Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 On the Ravenswood I have two small frames numbered 7’5” and one larger 7’5” frame are the smaller ones lashed to the big 7’5” frame or are they lashed separate? The drawing notes call out to fit the small 7’5” frame to the coaming. Does that apply the laminated coaming as well? Quote
Kudzu Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Small ones are just support for the coaming. So you can lash them to the larger frame and around the stringers if needed. If you are building a laminated coaming you probably will not need them, depending on the wood you use and how thick you made it. Plywood coaming will flex a bit and I recommend it for those. Good thing is you could add it afterwards if you found you needed it. I would be a lot easier to put in before skinning though. Jeff Quote
