I'm no expert, but since I've gotten involved in small boat building, these are my most used tools - plain old cabinet scrapers. I don't like the handle variety as much, and use the rectangular one the vast majority of the time. You can bend it a bit and get a serious bite for removing and smoothing runs of epoxy. Otherwise, jigsaw and DA sander are about it for me. And obviously some table saw useage, which I poach from somebody who owns one.

Here's a pic of my scrapers snoozing next to some unfinished business, proving beyond a doubt that those are indeed my tools.  :cool:

Dangit John, it had never occurred to me you could be wounded by one of these things until you said that. So far today, two nice palm punctures. Ouch. Gotta work on my technique. Wax on, wax off.
