I am getting back into building my boat and was looking up the net looking for masts and came across this http://www.goldspar.com.au/ site and he wanted to know how heavy the boat will be?...... and they make them up in their workshop.  I can get a one piece or a two piece with a sail track also. Which comes to my next question is building a sail with reefing points and how that would work?.....

   Hi David

   The B and B website list the following weights for the CS17 (I haven't weighed mine):

- Hull Weight 350-400 lbs

- Sailing weight 1000 lbs @ DWL with people and gear

   Maybe you could share the mast tube dimensions on the plans with the mast maker?  I don't know if the information will transfer well since the masts are made from two sections of aluminium tube with a wood section at the top.

   Have you decided what type of sails you'll use (sail-tracks, sleeve-luffs, laced-on)?  That will affect where the reef points are installed and how they work.  I think the preferred sails for ease of reefing are the ones that use tracks.

I think that their mast with tracks are oval or pear shaped. For free standing masts we need round masts.
