Moccasin 14

I finished the Moccasin 14 last week and put up a web page on the build if any are interested.

This boat is a 14 foot version of the 12 foot Moccasin, and was upsized by Graham to meet some requirements I had for a tripping boat to be used on the Bowron Canoe Circuit and Murtle Lake which is the largest paddle only lake in Canada, with excellent fishing for Rainbow trout I might add. I took the 12 foot version to Murtle Lake last year and it performed better than expected. We covered about 40 miles paddling in all on that trip.

Your Bowron lake circuit pictures are an inspiration.  I live on Vancouver Island but have yet to get to that part of BC.  Drove past it a few times on the way to PG.

Pretty awesome, is September the best time to do this? Also, do you need a permit cum put-your-name-on-a-waiting-list like in The Boundary Waters? PeterP

we picked the last of August and first of September because most of the bugs have died off. During the 2005 trip we woke up to fresh snow on the peaks around the circuit, and it rained every day at some point - just the luck-of-the-draw. The Bowron Circuit requires reservations because they only let 25 boats start the circuit per day. That sounds like it would be crowded, but we only saw other boats once-in-a-while during the trip, it felt like we were alone on the circuit.
