Very pretty! I like the almost round-bilged shape you can get with your multichine design. Very nice lines. Is it to be a row/motor boat only?

Yes, we had to sacrifice freeboard in order to fit her in the caravan. Also wanted maximum beam (and length) for carrying the two of us with associated stuff.

As such, she wouldn't be great for sailing and we already have two other boats to sail anyway.

The original motivation was to be able to take the boat, and the carvan, on bird-watching trips.

How light is she?

After finishing, painting and launching.

Forward section = 14kg

Aft Section = 24kg

TOTAL = 38kg

LOA = 3106mm

Beam = 1372mm

Nominal Draft 121mm

Overall height 486mm

Bulkheads, bottom and seat tops all 6mm ply. Side planks 4mm.

This thread is tugging at my own heart. This is just a cool build, coming from a special needs situation. 8)

38kg is equal to about 84 pounds' date=' so its pretty light![/quote']Oops! Sorry, I should have translated. I think metric these days.

So, I should also mention that she is about 10 ft long.

I could have used 4mm(3/16) ply more and saved weight but I also wanted strength. All the internal structures, bulkheads etc add weight, but all to good purpose in my opinion.

Our first launch was at a little (secluded) beach with no vehicle access. My wife was able to carry the larger section back to the caravan, on her own, using the technique in this photo (that's me, and my legs, not hers). The ability to split in two is real advantage, especially for a boat intended for poking about in inaccessible places.
