I would use ripstop nylon for the topsail, such as is used for kites. It is tough stuff and wears reasonably well. If you need a source for colors, etc. let me know.

For your foresails, Yankee or others, I would go with 3.8 oz. Dacron. Unless you have some exotic colors that you want. If that is the case then I would go with the ripstop nylon also and only use it for light air condtions. Change these out for a standard jib when the wind picks up.

These are all light air sails and should serve you well provided you take are of them and not try to push them in higher wind conditions. The topsail will get the most abuse since it will be rubbing against most of your rigging in use.
