Designer Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 Hi Roy, I am sorry for the confusion, I just checked the original and the 1/4" measurement is not there. You must have gotten your plan while I was doing some editing. Basically it is a non critical measurement. I like to leave at least 1/2" or more extra ply there at the bow so that after I join the sides to the bottom at the chine forward ready for the butterfly I can blend the bottom curve up through the side to the sheer for a sweeter bow profile. The reason that I can't be more precise is that you can draw many curves through the same three points and that curve is very subtle. I don't like to see a bow profile that is discontinous so that by leaving the extra material on the side you can make one curve that follows the bottom curve exactly and slowly straightens as it reaches the sheer/ top of the bow.
