Dave Newell Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Howdy all - well into fixing up the problems with my 2nd hand cs17. im about to fit new seat tops and wondered how they should be fixed to the framing - should be glued in or sealed with something like sixaflex to allow flex? thanks for the help dn Quote
Ken_Potts Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Hi Dave, I believe the seat tops are integral to the stiffness of the hull and therefore you should not try to allow for flex. If I'm wrong in that thinking I hope someone who knows better will chime in quickly. Wait a minute - By seat tops you are talking about the parts of the seats you sit on, not the parts of the seat you lean against, right? Quote
Charlie Jones Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Glue them- they are part of the structure of the boat and thus contribute to it's rigidity. Also- they contribute support to the CB case and mizzen mast step. Quote
