JeffM Posted October 5, 2004 Posted October 5, 2004 Just about to start measuring bottom stringers for my CS20 (want to be ready to flip the hull over this weekend -- planning to rope in friends coming for a party). When I looked at the materials list to figure out what to cut them from, I discovered that bottom stringers were not there! What did you other CS20 builders do? I could rip a few of them from the remains of the board for my transom stiffener, but that wouldn't do the whole job. Is there any other slack in the lumber? Or do I need to get some nondescript wood from the local Lowes? I don't have a good source of finished lumber nearby -- my good stuff came from Maine Coast Lumber. Jeff Quote
Scott Dufour Posted October 6, 2004 Posted October 6, 2004 I found its useful to have a couple of doug fir 2x4s or 2x6s on hand for jobs like that. It's just a couple of bucks, and it's nice to have it on hand for my inevitable "oops - 3/4 of in inch too short" issues. Quote
